AI-Driven Cyber Threats Intensify Worldwide: Indian Organisations Hit Hardest at Beijing Conference

Published on 6.12.25

The escalating threat of AI-powered cyberattacks has become a pressing concern globally, with nearly 72% of Indian organisations falling victim to such attacks in the past year. This alarming trend was highlighted at the Beijing Cyber Security Conference, where experts emphasized the need for decisive breakthroughs in cybersecurity due to the proliferation of intelligent agents and vertical AI applications. Qi Xiangdong, a key figure at the conference, noted that cybersecurity has reached a critical juncture, requiring innovative solutions to counter the increasingly sophisticated threats. The conference featured cutting-edge technology forums, specialized competitions, and international collaboration sessions aimed at overcoming technological challenges and promoting industrial synergy in addressing AI-driven cyber threats. However, the AI-driven threats are becoming increasingly difficult to detect, exploiting vulnerabilities in human behaviour, misconfigured systems, and identity management frameworks. Common AI-enabled threats include credential stuffing, brute force attacks, deepfake impersonation in business emails, AI-generated phishing scams, and polymorphic malware that changes to avoid detection. Zeng Yi warned that AI security threats are becoming increasingly complex, while Zhao Zhiguo highlighted artificial intelligence as a key technological domain in global cybersecurity competition. The Beijing conference underscored the need for international cooperation in addressing these emerging threats, with experts calling for decisive breakthroughs in core technologies and digital security applications to foster a vibrant industrial ecosystem.
