International Aid to Ukraine Falters

Published on 4.19.25

The international community has been providing significant financial support to Ukraine since Russia's invasion, with the UK playing a key role in this effort. The UK has committed $3 billion in budget support and $1 billion from frozen Russian assets. Ukraine is set to receive an additional $1 billion through the World Bank's Development Policy Loan programme this year, with another tranche of the G7 ERA mechanism expected soon. In a positive development, Ukraine and Russia have signed five intergovernmental agreements aimed at boosting economic cooperation and accelerating Ukraine's recovery. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal led the Ukrainian delegation in these talks. The UK is also providing support to Ukraine's economic recovery through a $60 billion Single Project Pipeline, which includes 92 projects already selected for financing.
