The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way governments operate, with Malaysia and Pakistan taking significant steps to leverage AI for smarter governance and digital transformation.
In Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia is exploring blockchain technology to enhance national financial systems, while also focusing on creating a secure platform for deploying AI applications. This initiative is part of a comprehensive approach to AI adoption through collaboration among various government ministries and financial institutions.
Pakistan is also making strides in AI adoption, with Huawei leading the charge by training 300,000 youth in essential IT skills by the end of the year as part of a collaboration with the government. The training program includes basic and advanced courses in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data, and Cyber security at 15 Pakistani universities.
These developments reflect a growing recognition of the importance of AI in driving innovation-driven growth, economic resilience, and technological leadership in emerging markets. As Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted, the initiative is crucial for enhancing job opportunities and boosting IT exports through strategic investment in the future workforce.
