  The Middle East has emerged as a key player in artificial intelligence adoption, solidifying its position as a major hub for AI infrastructure. The region's growing interest in AI is evident through various developments, including the expansion of Google Cloud and Equinix in the area. According to the Global Skills Report 2025 by Coursera, Gen AI enrolments surged 344% in the UAE and 165% in Saudi Arabia year-on-year, indicating a significant increase in demand for AI skills. The launch of MGX's data center in Abu Dhabi is part of the country's efforts to establish itself as a leader in artificial intelligence under Vision 2030. The facility will be powered by Oracle Cloud and AWS, further solidifying the region's reliance on cloud-based infrastructure. This move is also seen as a strategic partnership between MGX and Stargate UAE, with plans for expansion into Saudi Arabia. The UAE has been ranked as having the most skilled workforce in the Arab world, particularly in new-age technologies such as artificial intelligence. The country's ranking of 32nd globally on the AI Maturity Index further underscores its commitment to AI adoption. With the launch of GenAI's data center, the UAE is set to become a major hub for AI infrastructure, cementing its position as a key player in the global AI landscape.
