UAE Strengthens Economic Ties with African Nations

  The visit by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to India led to a forum focused on enhancing economic opportunities between the two markets, building on the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in February 2022. The agreement aims to boost bilateral non-oil trade from $3.1 billion in 2024 to $7.2 billion by 2032. In another notable move, the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Congolese President Sassou Nguesso in Abu Dhabi, where they signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa) aimed at broadening economic cooperation between the two nations. The agreement is seen as a key step towards achieving sustainable development and reducing poverty in the region. The signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Republic of the Congo is a significant milestone in this effort. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and Christian Yoka as signatories, marking a major step towards strengthening economic ties between the two nations. The UAE also welcomed visiting President Umaro Sissoco Embala of Guinea-Bissau at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, expressing hope for advancing UAE-Guinea-Bissau cooperation and economic growth through discussions on trade, investment, sustainable development, and regional issues.
