Maine-based artist Andrew DeGraff has returned to Butte with a new series of artworks, "Butte Noir", inspired by the city's grit and grandeur. His mixed media process combines ink, gouache, and pencil to create 25 black and white landscape paintings that reflect his ramblings around the Mining City. The artist, who also works as a commercial illustrator for publications like the New York Times and Sports Illustrated, believes art can build bridges and notes its importance in bringing people together.
