British Museum Secures Bayeux Tapestry Loan from France

  The British Museum has signed a loan agreement with France to display the Bayeux Tapestry for the first time in almost 1,000 years. The tapestry will be on display at the museum from September 2026 as part of a bilateral season of culture between the UK and France. The agreement was officially signed by Nicholas Cullinan, British Museum director, and Lisa Nandy and Rachida Dati, the respective culture secretaries for the UK and France.
