Judith de Leeuw's Protest Art in Roubaix

  A street artist, Judith de Leeuw, has created a new artwork in front of the Statue of Liberty in Roubaix, France, to highlight the shame felt by many regarding the Trump administration's immigration policies and ICE detainments. The statue was originally designed by Auguste Bartholdi and named La Liberté éclairant le monde (Liberty Enlightening the World). De Leeuw chose Roubaix due to its large migrant population, stating that the values of freedom and self-expression have been lost for many.
