KLZE Debuts in Kuala Lumpur This Weekend Only

  Kuala Lumpur is hosting several cultural festivals this weekend, including the debut of Kuala Lumpur Zine Etc (KLZE), a creative festival celebrating independent culture and self-publishing. The event features over 30 vendors, artists, and zinesters from Malaysia and beyond, offering a space for them to share their work and engage with the public. Visitors can browse the zine market, attend talks and workshops, and enjoy film screenings. In other news, a Japanese pop culture exhibition titled "Ryoko Kui and 'Delicious In Dungeon'" is currently on display at Incubase Arena in Kuala Lumpur, featuring over 150 artworks and concept pieces from the manga artist Ryoko Kui. The exhibition also includes an immersive set and a themed café serving monster-inspired dishes. A new exhibition at Galeri Puteh showcases 12 renowned Malaysian artists' interpretations of the legendary warrior Hang Tuah, exploring his cultural, social, and psychological legacy. Meanwhile, the Chinese Opera Exhibition: An Introduction And A Remembrance at Muzium Negara in Kuala Lumpur takes visitors into the world of traditional Chinese opera, featuring over 90 exhibits showcasing costumes, props, and musical instruments. Lastly, Galeri PETRONAS is reopening with a new installation titled "Anything But Prison" by Zulkefli Jais, accompanied by a five-minute video. The exhibition features diverse emerging artists exploring shifting perspectives and the balance between tradition and experimentation.
