The South Korean webtoon series received an excellence award at the inaugural World Comics Contest hosted by Lezhin Comics in 2014. However, it faced intense backlash after news of its planned drama adaptation, with the Korea Federation of Teachers' Associations condemning the source material and its adaptation as "a clear glamorisation of grooming". The group urged a halt to production due to concerns over its potential impact on society and children. In response, production company Meta New Line abandoned the adaptation plans, apologising to the original author for the controversy.
