Longe Explores Inner Worlds in 'The Other Side'

Published on 7.14.25

British artist Longe presents a new body of work exploring semi-abstract interior worlds in "The Other Side of the Mountain" exhibition. Inspired by Doris Lessing's novel "The Golden Notebook", her paintings capture fleeting moments and memories, weaving together past and present reflections on family, changing circumstances, and remembrance. Longe's classical portraiture training at Florence's Charles H. Cecil Studios informs her rich, jewel-like palette, employing Symbolist techniques to suggest subjective realities. The exhibition features works like "The Yellow Dress" (2025), capturing tender moments between a couple, representing different facets of the artist's divided self and exploring themes of sexuality and womanhood.
