Malaysian Engineer Turns Art into Thriving Career

Published on 7.10.25

Nasuha, an engineering graduate from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Malaysia, turned his passion for art into a thriving career. He initially drew as a hobby during classes and internship hours, with support from coursemates who encouraged him to continue. Nasuha's artwork gained attention through local competitions, including those organized by brands like Vans, Starbucks, and Samsung. With no formal training, he taught himself to draw and paint murals, which have become his signature style. His vibrant murals can be found in cafes, offices, and public buildings across the country, including a 13m x 9.14m piece in Ipoh featuring an Oriental-style portrait of a Chinese woman. Despite challenges like running out of ideas and weather conditions, Nasuha finds joy and fulfillment in his work, earning up to five figures a month from commissions.
