Maybank Foundation and Anthill Fabric Gallery have launched the first weaving training center in the Philippines, as part of their Maybank Women Eco-Weavers (MWEW) program. The centre, set to be completed by July 2025, aims to promote zero-waste weaving, cultural preservation, and sustainable innovation. The event was attended by top Maybank officials, Philippine government representatives, and Malaysian Ambassador Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino. A symbolic moment marked the handover of a zero-waste tapestry to Nanay Auring, highlighting shared goals of heritage and empowerment.
