Milano Cortina Medals Made from Recycled Italian Metal

Published on 7.15.25

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games are set to feature medals made from recycled metal produced by Italy's state mint, the Zecca dello Stato. The design, led by Brand, Identity and Look of the Games Director Raffaella Paniè, aims to celebrate unity through a bold and unified message. Over 1,100 medals will be awarded across 195 events, with Milano-Cortina organizing committee president Giovanni Malagò assuring that they won't deteriorate and could potentially be recycled in the future.
