US Supply Chain Leaders Struggle with Geopolitical Disruptions

Published on 8.5.25

A recent study by Sapio Research, commissioned by Ivalua, found that US supply chain leaders are facing significant geopolitical disruption, with 91% expecting disruptions from new trade policies and 85% saying international instability impacts decision-making. However, organizations that have adopted artificial intelligence (AI) are not only surviving but leading, with 98% of those with fully deployed AI tools feeling prepared for geopolitical risk. In contrast, companies without AI plans or those still implementing AI report lower levels of preparedness. The study suggests that innovation can be a powerful response to uncertainty, and that well-prepared organizations are better equipped to handle cost pressures and rising costs, with 78% of prepared companies expecting fewer profit hits from rising costs compared to unprepared ones.
