Judge Rules Against Tesla's Blade Runner Image

A US judge has ruled that Tesla's use of a Blade Runner 2049 image in its marketing materials is not protected under fair use. The judge, who did not specify their name, shaved the image of a character from the movie, which is owned by Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros., to use as a background in Tesla's promotional materials. The judge found that the image was not transformative and did not serve a purpose other than to make Tesla's products look cool. The ruling is in line with a 2019 decision by the US District Court for the Central District of California, which also found that Tesla's use of a Blade Runner 2049 image was not protected under fair use.

Medieval Organ Uncovered After 800 Years

A medieval organ, buried for 800 years near the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, has been restored and is now playing ancient melodies at a Jerusalem monastery. The 11th-century instrument, discovered in 1906, was reconstructed with painstaking care by a team led by Spanish researcher David Catalunya. The organ, which has 222 copper pipes and a bell carillon, is unique for its complexity and antiquity, predating the oldest known organs by centuries. It was built in France before being transported to Bethlehem by Crusaders and is set to be displayed in a museum of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land.
